2006 KLX 250 low power up top

I think the cams in the kawa are made more for mid range torque, you want a big hit up top, you will need to change the cams, do some head work, & put a megaphone tuned exhaust on it.... and as stated before, don't expect to much of a hit, it's a 250.

Great, thank you. Just spoke with the previous owner. He thinks he used the DynoJet 300 kit with the Stage 2, I assume #2206.002. Looks like it comes with 4 different jets, 120, 124, 128, & 132? He said it was a minor change, so I assume 120 or 124 if that is the case. Don't most of these bikes, with a pipe, run 128 or so?

Mid range is perfect for me. That's what I was looking for, thanks.

Here's a new question I have, what's the ideal cruising RPM for this motor? 5,000 rpms or so?

Fact is in spite of the tach markings, the peak horsepower is around 8300 rpm with the cams from about every dyno chart I've seen printed. The horsepower may vary, but not too much the rpm. 5000-6000 cruising no big deal.
