Default 09 KLX250s clutch/transmission issue after shift star change

After waiting over 6 months to get a new shift star at my LBS, I am having clutch issues now that I have it installed. With everything all buttoned back up, I can shift through all the gears fine with the back wheel off the ground, but the clutch doesn't engage in any gear and the bike launches when I try to shift into first to move forward. Same happens in all gears.

It sat with no oil in it for the 6 months. I thought maybe the clutch disks were seized together but that doesn't seem to be the case when I remove the cover and take the pressure off the springs.

I'm at a loss on something I am sure is simple...

If you removed the clutch, there is a washer under the clutch hub nut that is NOT flat and must be installed concave side towards the clutch hub.

I didn't take the right side apart until after I put the left side back together and realized the clutch wouldn't engage. I'll take the right side off again though and take a look. Any other ideas out there?

Solved: Clutch got too hot and one pad is seized to a plate. Lesson learned. Getting very stuck in mud solo is a bit of an expensive experience...
