So........

Dynajet 2152 Kit..........$51
FMF Power Core 4
and Power Bomb..........$407
(Q4 +$50) (+$50) Thoughts on saving the $50?
BB 351 Kit...................$527
KDX snorkel.................$30
Kouba Screw................$25
---------
$1040
($1090)

Probably wouldn't begin to mess with the 351 kit till this winter, but definitely is something I could see in the future.

Now, if we start talking suspension, I'm not exactly sure what that entails other than front forks etc......

Pony up the extra $50. The Q4 has plenty of thump. In fact I have been sound checked at a couple of events where the guy checked my Q4 over the 98db limit but passed me on anyway.
Noisy bikes are one of the big things that are ruining riding spots. Even on the road noisy bikes (lots of Harleys are overly loud) are bringing the law down on everybody.

"Front valve replacement" ? Curious as to what's involved in doing this, costs? Time?
Are the 2012's in need to upping the suspension?

Thanks for any info.

The TINY amount of oil that the front suspension will flow per unit of time is pitiful. It makes the front end lurch over hard hits, not compressing fast enough to soak up the shock, which makes it very hard to hold a line over rough terrain. Pro-Action makes a nice upgraded valving. I believe several others make good upgrades, too. MotoPro and Racetech come to mind. I don't know which is the best, or which is the best value. A local guy is a Pro-Action specialist, so, I went that route. I forget what I paid. Seems like I got the front done, with new springs, as well as the rear with new springs at a big discount, and it seems like it was about 650.00. But, I ride very rough desert terrain, so, it was a screaming deal at that price for the performance improvement it provided. The BB 331 was also a great deal for the performance improvement. I wasn't going to waste my money on a big bore unless I could get the suspension to work better...that's why I did suspension first.

I can see why you would upgrade your suspension. The vast majority of KLX owners will probably never push their bikes to that degree. You rank pretty high on the list of hard core KLXers.

I have a brand new never opend KDX snorkle on the work bench, make you a deal and save you $10 bucks. Let me know.

I suppose that's why most of the guys I ride with have a Husaberg, or Husky, or YZ450, or KTM.... I always seem to make it, no matter where we end up going, so, I guess the KLX is good enough for me! (at least, once the suspension was improved and the 331 was installed....)

I do wish for more suspension travel sometimes, though. I've learned not to lead high-speed stretches that are unfamiliar, because hitting a bad washout (they can be almost invisible until you are right up on them) can really jar your fillings loose on a bike that doesn't have a lot of travel available. I guess that's the price I'll pay for spending half of what some of those other guys have spent for a dual-sport.

$1000.00 to spend?
You should be able to get your KLX close to this with that much cash!
