Default $1000 to spend

I came by $1000 free money recently and decided to spend it on upgrading the bike. I have a stock 2009 KLX250. I can spend it all, but I'm looking for the most bang for the buck. How would you blow...............I mean spend the money? Thanks for your input.

Without a doubt, big bore kit + aftermarket pipe/jetting/airbox mod. That will come close to burning up a grand.

Any left over, new fork springs/revalve.

Best bang for buck is the 351 kit by a long shot.

I would do:
351
exhaust
jet kit
vortex throttle

Probably have $100 left over, take the wife out to dinner.

Any Bill Blue big bore for sure. FMF header/Q4 and dynojet. Kdx snorkel or no snorkel if like vibration and noise on the boys. That will make a grand disapear, have fun!

Everyone's got their own opinions. So you can take away from it what you want.

I wanted more modest mods that I could do myself without breaking the bank. I also needed to buy a bluetooth for my helmet, gloves, dirt helmet, rack, RAM mount, etc. so I couldn't just spent a lot on performance mods. Here's what I've spent and done in the first few months. I know it's no rocket, but I'm pleased with the power and it suits my needs.

FMF Q4 $300
Dynojet 1&2 $60
KDX snorkel $30
K&N air filter $35

Everyone's got their own opinions....yes...and they are all of the opinion that a big bore is the best bang for the buck. Your modest mods almost add up to a BB331 kit.

Front valve replacement. Without a doubt. It's Freaking Awful in stock form on a KLXs. THEN, do a big bore, jetting, etc. I don't care how much power a bike has compared to how well it handles.
