Good news, my odds have been upgraded from "outside chance" to "probable".

My plans are to leave at O'dark thirty on the 11th from here in Apex which should put me in there sometime that evening. I expect to make my way down I-95 and take I-10 over from Jacksonville unless someone can suggest a better route.

EMS - I know you are coming down from PA. I don't know who would be closer to hook up with, me or cwgoff, but you are welcome to ride with me if you like. One possibility is to drive down and arrive at my place Wed evening, crash here, then we head out in the wee hours of the morning on Thursday.

My plan for now is to head back north on Sunday. I might be able to extend that to Monday, but no guarantees. Whatever day we head back, you are again welcome to crash at my place before heading back up to PA. If you are near Pittsburgh, I estimate an 8 hour drive to my place. It used to take me about 6 1/2 or 7 hours to Morgantown which is about an hour south of Pittsburgh.

Marty, is there a sign-up? I'd like to secure a bunk in a cabin if possible, if they are not all already spoken for by now. I'm assuming that is first come first served.

Hi Guys,
Good to see Marty is generating a lot of excitment about TdAII over here in KLX land. I've gotten several reservations from KLX riders and figured I'd better come see what's up.
So, even though you guys seem to have all your bases covered, here is a rehash of all the important info:

Original invite:
Hi All,
Please mark Thursday, January 11th, 2007 through Monday, January 15th, 2007 in your calendar for Tour de Apalachicola Two - The Adventure Continues. It will be held at Camp Indian Springs in Wakulla County, Florida. This is about 20 miles south of Tallahassee, Florida.

http://www.campindiansprings.com/

Guided rides will be provided Saturday and Sunday. These rides will be on the graded roads through the Apalachicola National Forest, as well as a coastal scenic/historic ride and some mild single track. More rides will probably be added and volunteers are being sought for ride leaders.

Dinner will be provided on Saturday night and a light breakfast of bagels, toast and coffee will be provided Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings. Friday evening will be the dual sport invasion of the local Seafood Buffet that was so well received last year. Sunday evening meal will be up for grabs.

We will have access to the old dining hall for a tech space. This is a huge dry hall with a concrete floor and electricity. So the wrenching can go too late in the evening and will not be effected by thunder storms and other acts of god.

Tentative schedule:

Thursday – Early bird arrival

Friday – regular arrival

Friday 6:30 pm Seafood buffet at Savannah’s Restaurant

Friday evening – tech session

Saturday morning – coffee bagel breakfast

Saturday about 10am – guided rides departing

Saturday 6:30pm – group meal and awards/giveaway ceremony

Saturday Evening – tech session

Sunday morning – coffee bagel breakfast

Sunday about 10am – guided rides departing

Sunday 6:30pm – dinner –still open

Sunday evening – tech session

Monday – load out

More TDAII info:
So, if you plan on coming please email me so I can expect you. Let me know when you are arriving and if you are planning on staying in a cabin, or, towing a popup/camper, or getting a room the local lodge.
If you decide to camp be sure and bring enough of a sleeping bag to keep you warm even in20 degrees F weather (worst case scenario).
There is one heated cabin on the boys side that will sleep about 12 people in bunks. Expect this cabin to fill first and and be kind of noisy due to snoring, belching, far.... You get the picture.

If you don't want crowded then plan on sleeping in an unheated cabin or tent camping.

Friday night dinner plan is seafood buffet. This is at a local restaurant about 5 miles away from camp.

Saturday night dinner plan is BBQ on a bun, potatoe salad, slaw, etc. This will be served at camp.

Sunday is still open but I'm leaning towards another close buffet.

Looking forward to meeting all you KLX riders.
Have a great day.

MxTrail

Deej, I'm sure if you decided to fly out we could find something for you to ride. I have a mountain bike I could bring, but it's kinda dirty.

EMS,
Yes, cabins are first come first serve. But don't worry, there are plenty of bunks to go around.
I estimate a total of over 100 bunk spaces at camp. Each bunk has a mattress. Since I expect about 50 people at this rally and several of the people coming are bringing their own accomodations ( tent, popup, camper, etc.) there will be no problems.

Ok thats cool... ill probably prefer the unheated building... i live in pittsburgh, cold is no issue, and i have a sleeping bag warm enough. ill probably bring my tent just in case, it doesnt take that much space up...
