24 years ago I came off my GPz550 doing approx 140 - 160 KPH. I was wearing a light weight shirt, jeans, joggers and a full face helmet. If I had been wearing half a helmet (half face) I would today have no chin, nose and have a lot of skin missing off my face. I say this because the helmet visor and chin piece had deep gouges in them. The bike was written off and needless to say the helmet got tossed when I got out of hospital 16 days later.
I am a firm believer in full face helmets as you can imagine.
