He is not doing it for your sake. Depending on what state he is in - he is bound by duty to act laws. Meaning if he witnesses a criminal act of X severity - he must act in his role as a police officer.

I do understad that, and its true, he has to carry it here. Its just kind of odd, most people around here dont carry weapons, so when there is someone packing, it makes ya think a little different.
A few years ago, we had on of the cousins over for Thanksgiving dinner, her new boyfriend (a cop)was wearing a 9mm on his hip at the dinner table.
Gramma was petrified. It was pretty uncomfortable for a lot of people. We asked him to kind of ya know, put it out of sight. He refused, started tellin us it was his job, blah, blah, blah. Needless to say they were not invited over for turkey any longer. In fact she ditched him a few years later.
Just sayin.

Takes all kinds to make the world go round Forty....but I bet ya already know that.

I got a cwp and always carry....nooooone knows I am packing it all technique and a desire to maintain a low profile...ya know, walk soft with a big stick.

Your story sounds like someone with little pee pee issues.

Why? You want to be petrified - worry when a cop ISNT packing his gun. If a weapon isn't in it's holster and within the control of it's owner - cop or not - THAT is when you should be concerned... because it is out there floating around somewhere and can fall into the wrong hands extremely easily.

Now yes - if he was SMART and considerate - he would have been carrying concealed, but his carrying at turkey and not being invited had little if anything to do with their breakup years later... so you are "just saying" something that isn't applicable. They had much greater issues than that which led to their breakup.

I'm guessing his "nightstick" was inadequate.
