Politics : pol-i-tics
-noun

From the Latin "poli" meaning "many", and "ticks" meaning "blood sucking creatures".

LOL....this thread is still alive.....I thought for sure it would be a train wreck by now.

Hey Sombo....you seem to believe Palin in anti-environment, could you post up some specifics that makes you believe so.... I don't know much about legislation she supported in Alaska.

However, I do know she is a good hunter, likes to fish and is married to a commercial fisherman.....in my experience sportsman are USUALLY (not always...don't get excited ) good stewards of the environment.

Post it up.

Here's a few links of reports on things she's done. Oh and her husband is an oil field production operator working for BP oil. So you can already see where the influence for support of oil and gas is coming from.

Don't know how many of you are also animal rights activists but the last few have to do with the aerial hunting of wolves and bears in Alaska. This also includes Palin's instituting a bounty for wolves that would have hunters bring in just the leg of their kills. The last one is about how the Alaskan Department of Fish and Game performed illegal wolf hunting to include the killing of wolf pups in the den. No action was taken by the state under Palin's lead. With her at the helm you could kiss your wildlife preserves goodbye and see the over hunting and fishing of many animals that would lead to major imbalances in the ecosystem and cause even more long term and large scale damage.

For 18 years, he worked for BP Oil in the North Slope oil fields of Alaska. In 2007, in order to avoid a conflict of interest relating to his wife's position as governor, he took a leave from his job as production supervisor when his employer became involved in natural gas pipeline negotiations with his wife's administration. Seven months later, because the family needed more income, Todd returned to BP. In order to avoid potential conflict of interest, this time he accepted a non-management position as a production operator.
sounds very ethical to me, certainly not the typical political family manuevering.

if you want to bring up social ties why not look into who got Obama his college recommendations and helped fund his schooling.
