over population of wolves can be far more harmful to the rest of the environment than hunters. wolves don't care if another animal is a baby in a den, they will gladly eat it. over population of wolves leads to first the devestation of other wildlife then the devastation of livestock then starvation of wolves. At the same time under population of predators can cause overpopulation in the grazing animals and cause extensive damage to the vegitation in the forests, nobody understands this better than hunters.

Yes but the problem is they are not currently overpopulated and are being hunted to an extent that is way beyond the predatory control policies of Alaska. Also the state law prohibits the hunting of predators during denning season. In other words if they have pups they are legally off limits. However they were killed anyway and the state under Palin didn't enforce the law but instead offered up bounties. Then she went further and created that new bill that would basically prevent the Alaskans from even voting on the matter. Sorry but do you want someone in office that just might enact a bill that could prevent you from voting an a serious issue? I sure don't.

Also if you think that McCain is so trustworthy, why not take a better look of his interviews on the news. You can find them on Youtube and you'll see how much and how often he lies and contradicts himself. In fact in the same interview he was asked a question, answered one way, and 11 minutes later asked the same thing and answered the opposite. Also alot of his speeches he dances around questions the way Bush does, stutters cause he doesn't know wtf to say, and doesn't give a direct answer to your question. In one case a veteran asked him why he refused to sign off on the new GI Bill and instead of getting a straight answer McCain gave bs dancing mumbling about how he's always been supported by the different veteran organizations and always voted favorably even when the veteran had written proof there in his hands while asking that McCain was lying and had a horrible voting record.

So go ahead and question Obama all you want. I don't want another 4 years of Bush added in with Palin helping to destroy what's left of our economy and ecosystems.

Ok, being an environmental engineer I thought your opines may have been a little off-base. Now being a Florida Cracker I am very familiar with our ecosystems and really don't know squat about Alaskan ones. However I do understand how State wildlife regulatory agencies implement wildlife management programs. Please stop saying Illegal ok...the policy was implemented by the appropriate regulatory agency way prior to Palin taking office.

Alaskan Wildlife Predator control:

Palin has supported the Alaska Department of Fish and Game policy allowing Alaska state biologists to hunt wolves from aeroplanes as part of a predator control program intended to increase moose populations.[72] The program prompted California State Representative George Miller to introduce a federal bill (H.R. 3663) seeking to make the practice illegal.[73] In March 2008, a federal judge in Alaska upheld the practice of hunting wolves from the air, though limited its extent.[74] On August 26, 2008, Alaskans voted against ending the state's predator control program.

If you notice it was put up to a vote too.

Now you may not agree with the policy but the Alaska Department of Fish and Game seems to think it is a good idea. It appears on the surface that Palin just supported the biologist's opines which may be correct or not.

Don't believe all the treehugger website hype. Base your opines on science.

Oh, I also caught your disapproval of Bush Jr's environmental policies...now I may not care for a lot of his political policies but on the environment he has done quite well

You do know Bush created the worlds largest marine sanctuary.

Bush creates new marine sanctuary

Reef fish, Hawaiian North Western Islands
Fishing will be phased out over five years
US President George W Bush has designated a swathe of Hawaiian islands as a US national monument, making them the world's largest marine sanctuary.

He signed a law on Thursday which will give the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands the highest protected status in US law.

The area, nearly as big as California, supports more than 7,000 species, a quarter of which occur nowhere else.

Environmental groups welcomed the decision, although fishing industry bodies have raised concerns.

The designated site - more than 140,000 sq miles (362,000 sq km) of reefs, atolls and shallow seas - is just larger than the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park in Australia, previously the world's largest protected marine area.

The remote and uninhabited islands and surrounding seas are important breeding grounds for sea turtles, and are home to the only remaining population of the endangered Hawaiian monk seal.

The new restrictions will mean all fishing is phased out within five years and visitors will need permits to snorkel or dive in the area.

The islands were already being considered for designation as a national marine sanctuary.

Now, however, Mr Bush has used his powers under the 1906 National Antiquities Act, which allows the president to give instant protection to important sites, in a decision which will bypass a year-long process of consultation and afford a greater level of protection.

"This is really for the first time saying the primary purpose of this area of the ocean is to be a pristine, or nearly pristine, kind of place," David Festa, director the ocean programme at Environmental Defense, told the New York Times.

"It would take it off the books as a fishing ground. That's really the first time we'll have done that in any kind of sizeable area," he said.

In an interview with the Washington Post, local Democrat representative Ed Case lauded the president for undertaking "the most revolutionary act by any president, any administration, in terms of marine resources".

You should never confuse people with facts, FM. How about this one:

HOUSE # 1:
A 20-room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas.
Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house all heated
by gas. In ONE MONTH ALONE this mansion consumes more energy than the
average American household in an ENTIRE YEAR. The average bill for
electricity and natural gas runs over $2,400.00 per month. In natural
gas alone (which last time we checked was a fossil fuel), this property
consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home.
This house is not in a northern or Midwestern "snow belt," either. It's
in the South.

HOUSE # 2:
Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university,
this house incorporates every "green" feature current home construction
can provide. The house contains only 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and
is nestled on arid high prairie in the American southwest. A central
closet in the house holds geothermal heat pumps drawing ground water
through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water (usually 67
degrees F.) heats the house in winter and cools it in summer. The
system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas, and it consumes
25% of the electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling
system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000
gallon underground cistern. Wastewater from showers, sinks and toilets
goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The
collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Flowers
and shrubs native to the are! a blend the property into the surrounding
rural landscape.

HOUSE # 1 (20 room energy guzzling mansion) is outside of
Nashville,Tennessee. It is the abode of that renowned environmentalist
(and filmmaker) Al Gore.

HOUSE # 2 (model eco-friendly house) is on a ranch near Crawford,
Texas. Also known as "the Texas White House," it is the private
residence of the President of the United States, George W. Bush.

lol....old news NB, You would get a tanker on my phishing forum for posting that tidbit of truth that no Gore fan is willing to accept.

btw...remember that electoral college map I posted at the beginning of this thread....look at the results now

The Dems are trying to attack Palin on all sides and it is backfiring on them hard. The politics section in my phishing forum is straight up comedy now...with like 30 threads attacking her from family values, religion, and experience.

Current electoral map....McCain/Palin are now in the lead....what a turn around....keep attacking Palin libs, it is doing nothing but helping their ticket.
