If you know a mechanic that will go with you - do it. Also, go by your gut instinct too. I looked at one bike at a shop that was used, the guy working there said it was a great bike, no problems with it, someone could buy it - hop on and go for the season. Anyways, we got the bike up on the centrestand, turned the handle bars (there was a lot of 'choppy' resistance turning from side to side - steering head bearings needed to replaced), then we started the bike up, it started good, but all of a sudden it was leaking antifreeze. Needless to say, we passed on that one.

I was real impressed with the guy I bought my bike off of. He was honest, answered any questions I had without hesitation. I just got a good vibe from the guy. He has actually kept in touch with me to make sure that I was happy with the bike still! He even wants first dibs on it when I sell it.

 

Hey Wannabe, if you want tell me where the R6's are located and I'll have my dad drive me over to check em out for you. Yzf are comfortable bikes, I almos picked up one. Kinda sits like a sport bike, but really comfortable.

Just let me know and I don't mind bike shopping. My dad and I have alot of common sense too. So have no fear, I'll let you know if it's a thumbs up or not

 

Well I wouldn't wanna make you drive all the way up here.. the one in Danbury is a little outta my price range. Should be checking out the one here on Thursday afternoon, hopefully it goes alright.

 

Well as it would turn out, after e-mailing this guy back and forth.. I found out it's a guy I know and used to work with. Which is good because I know he's decent with a wrench and his chevy s-10 is nice and clean, so hopefully he put the same effort into the bike.

 

That's cool. Well, I hope it does work out. But I made the offer before, so if there are any bikes that you want someone to take a look at, I'll be more then happy to. I'm bored all the time anyways..lol

 

R-6 is definently a sport bike, very aggressive and would compare to the 636. Great bike.

 

no, your right the R6 is a sportbike, but the YZF600 is like the R6, but not really. The R6 is awesome. I love em. [sm=Awwww.gif]

 

Well the bike was in good condition, but his minimum price (3500) is a little too much for me. So I guess the search continues.

The bike was a bit too big for me, literally and figuratively. No idea how you ladies fit on those sportbikes, I could barely touch the ground at 5'7". Those bikes are heavy as hell too. Think I'm gonna go back to looking for the GS500.

 

here's the secret to how some of the shorter ladies fit on some of the larger bikes............boots with big heels! Now I don't want to see you going out and doing that........trust me, it would look funny on you!

 

Well, I'm 5'7", I guess my only comment is "thank you god for giving me long legs" sorry dude.

But for real, I lowered by bike in the back a bit too. You can try that.
