I thought lowering = worse handling?

From what I've heard, the biggest problems you have w/lowering a bike is less corner clearance... i.e. you'll start scraping hard parts at lesser lean angles. Next people complain that if you just lower it, but don't set the suspension up right to compensate, you might be in for a harsher ride. Even if you do tweak it, you'll have less suspension travel to work with. Of course, LOTS of people ride with them, as it's better to ride with than not ride at all...
If you don't want those problems, you could try shaving your seat first... or if you do end up wearing those tall boots, you _HAVE_ to post pictures... That's mandatory.

RE: I hate being indecisive...
Well I went to sit on a few more bikes today including the SV650S.. it would probably work if I got the low seat from Suzuki, lowers the seat padding about 10 mm.. probably not very comfortable but whatever works. I could touch with the ***** of my feet fairly well.
Surprisingly, the GSXR600 seemed to fit the best, but I don't think I'll be looking for one of those anytime soon.

Hmm never heard of that company.. didn't find anything on ebay or craigslist, probably be a bit hard to find used.
Going to check out an SV650S tomorrow.. little wary, the guy said the last owner dropped it on both sides (dropped, not laid down).. I asked about the forks and he said one's a little scuffed up but aren't bend or twisted.

RE: I hate being indecisive...
Well the guy selling the SVS was a douche.. I told him I'd be there at 11 (which he said was fine). I called him on the way there like he asked and he didn't pick up. Got to his street (couldn't find his house.. was #16 and the houses went 18..14..). So I drove to Vernon (1.5h roundtrip) for nothing, and then he called me around 2 to tell me he had sold it that morning.
I'm about to just bite the bullet and buy a 2006 250, but I really want to hold out for the SVS or GS500.

Well, I'm 5'7", I guess my only comment is "thank you god for giving me long legs" sorry dude.
But for real, I lowered by bike in the back a bit too. You can try that.

Well the bike was in good condition, but his minimum price (3500) is a little too much for me. So I guess the search continues.
The bike was a bit too big for me, literally and figuratively. No idea how you ladies fit on those sportbikes, I could barely touch the ground at 5'7". Those bikes are heavy as hell too. Think I'm gonna go back to looking for the GS500.
