I feel like whoring it up 2 (official new whoring thread)
Speaking of old iron.....I'm just tossing this out for information. There's alot of buzz in the motor oil forums about the levels of Zinc and Phosphate in newer motor oils. Seems phosphate (in particular) will foul catalytic converters, so the oil makers have/are adjusting additive levels downward, accordingly. The problem with this, is in the older pushrod and flat tappet engines, the zinc and phosphate play a big role in decreasing the friction and wear at point sources (pushrod-rockers, etc.) Maybe not a huge deal for bikes, but for cars/trucks from year 2000 and older, they claim you need to use oil for "high mileage" vehicles, due to the higher zinc and phosphate content. I've done a little bit of research, and it DOES appear the "regular" (i.e. dino and synthetic) 5-30's have a much lower Z/P content. If you drive older vehicles (like I do) and/or get your hands dirty doing rebuilds, this might be worth thinking about. FYI.
All this talk of "old iron" got me going. Fluid is always easier to change than hard parts.

Yeah that's lame, I also just heard that new diesels have two filler spouts now, one for fuel and one for some exhaust fluid, what's that all about? Anyone heard of that? Not to be confused with blinker fluid and muffler bearings. So don't even go there. LOL
Oh and speaking of old iron, this is the only surviving picture of my first car. 71 Firebird. My Aunt sold it to me for $600 back in 1983. She let me make payments. A few days ago I found the cancelled check for that first $250 to her. Good times......that car was the shiznit back in the day, at least I thought it was.

Oh MAN!!! THat's a CLASSIC!! 400 or 350? Those things were bullet-proof. (And so were we, right???)
Do a Google for Diesel Exhaust Fluid. We're hanging on to our old Peterbilt 379's and KW-W9 trucks as loooooong as possible.

pick up some pilot road 2 or 3's, I love mine. If you do any riding in the rain go for the road 3's they have enough grip to wheelie on wet pavement.
It is way to hot today. 105 Here in pittsburg. I'm scared to leave my 74 deg apartment right now.
