Default tender or charger or both?

so im kinda new at this and trying to go ahead and prepare for winter (been reading up on winterizing) so should i get a battery tender or a charger or a two in one deal? plus i just bought this bike with a bad battery so if i go ahead and get a new one and dont install it until next spring do i even need to tend it? any advice on a good place to buy this stuff? thx!

The only problem with the tenders is that the battery has to have some kind of charge for it to recognize the battery and kick on. If the battery is dead, the tender may not "see" it and turn on, so you may end up needing to charge the battery first or run the bike a while to get it charged. Other than that, I definately recommend a tender hooked up full time over the winter as it will keep the battery at optimum level without you having to worry about it. I have a couple tenders and keep one on my 636 since it does not see day to day use.

Check out a BAtteryMinder...totally different kind of tender...Pretty amazing piece,unlike any other.Actually reverses sulphation...just google it....

I'm not sure where you are, but I always get to ride mine once in a while and haven't had any problems keeping mine charged through the winter. I guess it depends on if you plan on riding it at all during the winter.

i live in Indiana so i am planning on not riding at all until about March.Just bought a Yuasa maint. free battery that ill probably just keep until next spring. ...whoa, searched on the batt.minder, sounds awesome. thx!

Don't give up on riding yet...I live in OH and got plenty of riding in last winter
