I have a Vulcan Classic 800 and have had a standard jet kit put on with Vance and Hines exhaust. I am thinking about getting a hyper charger put on which would mean another jet kit. I am wondering if it would be worth it?
My bike runs and sounds great now so would doing this add to the performance and life of the bike? Change the way it sounds? Would I be opening my self up to backfireing? Would it be throwing money away?

I just added a hyper charger to my bike it looks great but I'm running rich the 170 jet the kit called for me to use.stock is 135 jet and with vance&HINES WHICH I'm running I was running a 138 jet.my a/f mixture is 3 1/2 turns out.I replaced the needle also which was adjusted to the 3rd notch 3 shims which tells you to use in the instructions.
My bike is running way to rich at full throttle spark plug is sooted from gas.160 165 170 180 jet came wiyh the kit.Still fine tuning here bike does seem more responsive though I will have it dynoed soon 800A 2003good luck Rick

 

the hypercharger is nice for peak power at a certin RPM, however the air into the charger varies so much because the openings are aimed where you are driving, that it is very very hard to get it tuned properly - I put the OKIE air system on my bike - it involves some work - it uses a dragtron air intake and kyerkan mounting sleeves but it came out and looks awesome.. im running a tad rich - but i plan to get the bike dyno tuned once i get some tires
