Default Looking at an 2004 Kawasaki ZX636R, good bike for my height and weight?

I'm 5'1, 105 lbs. I was going to get the 650r until I found out the max it could be lowered was 1.5 inches. At any rate does anyone know if this can be lowered 2 to 3 inches? It is also on the light side at 355 lbs so I figured this would be good for me. Any other suggestions on bikes? I'm upgrading from the 250 and was going to considers the 250r (08 only), gsxr or the r6.

Well one thing to consider being short (I am 5'5 140 and none of it is legs heh) is that lowering a bike too much, especially a sportbike can change the way it handles, less ground clearance, less lean angles are obtainable. I'd consider thinking about a few things - I know some aftermarket seats like Corbin (I've read some very good and some god awful reviews about that company) can lower the seat almost a full inch (~.8 of an inch according to their website on the ZX-6R) and I've also heard you can tool around with the shocks but I don't think you weigh enough for it to matter. I personally am not a fan of lowering bikes TOO much, although in many cases a lowering has to be done. I ride and have no problems 1 footing any of the 600 cc bikes - it's just lame bc on some i have to physically get off to back it up heh.

Another thing is on some roads where the slant is funny, 1 footing can be a pain in the ***.

Look for narrower seats so your legs go down more than out. And for your question earlier, I'm not sure about the 650, but most 600cc bikes can be lowered atleast 2 inches...although like I said, any further I'd not recommend. The GSXR600 will be your shortest starting 600 cc from my experience. R6 will be taller. I am personally getting a '06 636 on Thursday. Mind you 355 is light but still easily dropped if you run into a goofy situation at a light or whatever.

if you are upgrading from the 250, the Kawi 500R is only 30.5 inch seat height and there is a fair bit of padding to the seat so it can be shaved from what I hear. Hope this helps. Good luck!

hate to suggest anything other than kawi (esp on this forum) but a ducati monster would fit you pretty well. Even though the new 250Rs are really nice theres no point, imo, to go from a 250 to a 250 unless you really feel that you havn't come close to the bikes mechanical limits.
