Default Lowering my 2004 ZX636R

I just bought my 636R and it's so FREAKIN AWSOME except, I can hardly touch the ground. I looked the bike over and noticed that I'll only be able to lower the front forks about 1/2" to 5/8". It appears the fork tube tappers down a smaller OD than where the trees clamp on. I really need this thing a good 1 1/2" F/R. The rears not going to be a problem since I bought the lowering link. Can anyone help me figure out a solution?

If you are lowering the ride, you are not concerned on cornering clearance. I am not a fan of lowering this ride, but since you must....yes, the lowering links, and then check the front sags and rear after lowering the forks. Some spring adjustments will most likely be in order with the ride now to get the geometry decent ( to fit your needs, style and weight.) Have you checked in with your local suspension guru with these same questions recently? good luck with your new ride
