Hey guys-

I just picked up an 03' zx6rr and was wondering if there was any issues with that year bike that I should be watching for. Right now its mechanically sound, but if there is anything that these bikes are known for I'd like to know so I can be prepared for it.

welcome to KF. keep a eye on the cam chain tensioiner. other then that enjoy and post us some pics!

 

x2 on the cam chain tensioner, kawi's are notorious for there ticking engines, upgrade to a manual cam chain tensioner & da sound will go away, also will be a good idea to change all fluids, inspect the brakes & lines, tires and drive chain to make sure all are inspect

 

Also had an issue with the cam chain tensioner. Had to tighten it but keep in mind bike is now 18 years old or so
