The black does look good. It kind of ties in the black plastic around the front fender, fairing, tank and tail section. I really like the way the underseat exhaust looks. I just hope it doesn't get too hot in the summer. Like I said she loves the bike, and I actualy have been able to sneek it out a couple of times. It's a lot of fun. I haven't been able to ride it hard because of the break in period, but it runs really good for a six hundred at the lower RPMs. I'm looking forward to the track day. I'm planning on taking it out for a session, that is if she doesn't keep the key in her pocket.

The 636 is a blast on the track! Very easy to drag your knees on most turns. The power of the bike is amazing, my friend on his Ducati 999 can pull away from me down the straight a few feet but I catch him by the end of the straight .

You may want to change out the stock Bridgestones 014 with perhaps the Pirelli Diablo Corsa's, I wish I had done this before I hit the track.

Don't worry too much about keeping the rpm's down for break in. There are many 636 at the track that never seen any street time and I know they did not keep the revs down for break in. The track is a excellent way to seat in the piston rings!

Keep the rubber side down,
Mike

AA HEAT FROM UNDER THE SEAT IS NOT SUBSTANTIAL, BUT THE CALF ON MY RIGHT LEG GOT VERY HOT A COUPLE OF TIMES LAST SUMMER(BUT I WAS WEARING SHORTS). I THINK THAT THE UNDERTAIL EXHAUST IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO. I HAVEN'T BURNT MY LEG YET HA.

the under seat exhuast doesn't get hot at all..... most of the heat will come from the side fairing.... even in jeans you could feel the heat of the engine... it isn't bad but you could tell....

Where'd you get your seat cut down? Does anyone know of a place in MI that will do that?

I'm not too concerned about the break in other than just getting the break in oil changed. Some companies use assembly lube. The BT 014 aren't bad for OEM tires, but there are better. I've been using Pilot Powers and have been fairly happy. The Corsas have a good reputation as well. I think I'll let her put some miles on the bike before I change to something stickier.

It's good to hear the exhaust doesn't heat up the seat too badly. On some bike it's a problem.

I cut the seat down myself. It's not too hard. I've gotten plenty of practice over the past few years since we been married.
