07 thumping brakes
ok, these rotors are seriously expensive if you do a full brake job on these bikes. i have a serious thump when i brake...on the front only. i noticed on the inside of one rotor there is some pitting. i emailed a pic of them to a nearby dealer and he sent them to kawasaki canada. they wrote back it was because of storing the bike wet. (the bike was put away clean and on stands for the winter in my garage.) well if that was the case, wouldn't the other 2 rotors have the same thing? i had a thump in the front end last year. it was due to a messed up front tire due to low PSI, which was totally my fault. i had the mechanic even check the neck bearing for play because i thought that is what it was. i think it's a crappy rotor and they should replace it, i'm gonna call them tomorrow and see what they say. i got 4 yrs extended warranty to the tune of $900 extra, and i'm kinda pissed that i have to pay for rotors that are faulty, imo. anyway, anyone else had this problem? did i really screw my one rotor by putting it away clean? sorry, had to rant a little. there is only 14 000kms on the bike. i don't want to have to drop a ton of money on new rotors and pads for the thing.
called kawi today, voice mail. i'll call again tomorrow. but i swung by the closest kawi dealer (happens to be a killer guy) and he agrees that it was a defect in the product. now i just gotta get kawi to give me a new set of rotors and pads and i'm off
porosity in a rotor is a weak link in a braking system. If I am on the same page here, I say give the Fing rotor back to them for a direct replacement.
edit: porosity and not the normal holes in the rotors right??? lol

yeah man, there is porosity. i sent them pix and their service department figured it was due to the bike sitting for an extended period wet. lol, ummm no. it sat for 2 months over the winter. i like her too much to let her sit. i drove her in 28 degees F before....not for long. just enough to get my fix
but i did talk to a few different people yesterday and it SEEMS like i will get my stuff fixed under warranty. i HOPE that this is the case
