Default 06 6r 636 tapping noise

First off, I'd like to introduce myself, as I am new to the forums. I am also new to sport bikes (had a dirtbike about 5 years ago). This past Saturday I purchased a new ZX-6R 636 and I've been having a great time getting familiar with it. Here's the problem: I'm at about 150 miles on the odometer and I've noticed a tapping noise coming from the engine that increases with RPM. My guess is it's a valve tapping. Is this noise normal for sportbikes or might there be something wrong with the engine?

I'm scheduled to bring the bike in for it's first maintenance at 600 miles. Should I bring her in early because of this? I'm afriad if I break 7krpm I'm might break a valve stem or something. Thanks for any help.

P.S. I've seen some info about a dual headlight mod. Can anyone perhaps give me a link to said product? Also, how difficult is the installation? Thanks.

The valve ticking is a normal Kawasaki break-in thing. It has done it on the last 4 brand new Kawi Sportbikes I have owned. It gets a lot quietier with more miles and a few oil changes. The stock oil is very thin and should be changed at 500 miles. I am at 2200 miles on my bike and the ticking is almost gone.

I just changed my oil and used 10-30. The ticking is still there but not as loud. Bike runs great otherwise.

These engines are pretty noisy anyway. PM me about the headlights. Thanks Evil.

your valves will be kinda loud until the valve seats compress, causing a smaller clearance gap between the cam/valves. don't worry about it.

I am new to the forums. I purchased a new 2006 ZX-6R 636already have 10, 500 miles on it..
I came from a long ride and next morning when i started up the bike I've noticed a tapping noise coming from the engine sound likethe engine is running without oil. I killed the engine andchecked the oil and everything was fine
started the bike again and let it warm up and the noise stop when the bike reach120 degrees
and run normal after that . it just happensafter I park the bike for long period of time

One of the shop told me that i have to replace the oil pressure Valve and the other one told me Ihave to replace the oil pump and the valve... but both told me $450.00
any advice?
Thanks
