Replacing left mirror on 06, 650 R
My step-son bought a 2006 Ninja 650R. It's his 1st bike and he dropped it a couple of times in the 1st few months he had it. Nothing bad, it just got away from him, usually while stopping. Anyway, he was at work and it got backed over by a dually truck. GREAT! It was fixed pretty much back to new. He hadn't had it for 3 hours, was pulling back in the driveway and dropped the damn thing again. Arghhh! It broke the left side mirror. I bought a new one for him for Christmas. But, I can't figure how to attach it. I've not tried too hard, just held it up to the bike to see how it might attach. It looks like it bolts onto the ferring somehow. The piece that attaches to the ferring is still OK. It's the arm that broke off. Can I just leave the base on the ferring, remove the broken arm pieceand then attach the new arm and mirror to it? Or, will I have to replace the base, arm and mirror? If so, how the heck do I replace the base part? Thanks, Greg
hahaha, kinda funny about learning curves. Some people take longer to get the feel for rides.
Back to the Q: Normally the whole assembly is changed out. Two nuts, maybe a plastic cover to remove to get to the nuts. Check this fiche out and that may help ya. http://www.flatoutmotorcycles.com/fi...ion_detail.asp
