Default Power loss?

OK, so I am riding my new 08 ninja and I am around 2-3 blocks from my starting point and I start to lose power/tork in 3rd or 4th gear! I down shifted and tried to throttle through but as I gave her gas it just seemed to fade. I turned around and started back but the power band seem to return, that was this morning..... This evening it does the same thing but a little further out say maybe 4-5 blocks away from my house again, it went away but it concerns me as I might lose power at a intersection or some other dangerous place. So what shouldI do, it is a new bike with only 53 miles on it "6-8 rides" sois this normal for break in, should I panic and take it to the dealership and have it looked at, or should I put some more miles on it and see what happens? I am no gear head so any help is appreciated thanks guys.

The 08 Ninja has had 3 recall issues, one of which is the air box being sealed up (that could be causing the problem). Look for an oil leak from the head gasket (should be able to see if there is just over the top of the exhaust headers). But take it to the dealer anyway since it's under warranty.

Just take it in, when i got my 07 it wouldnt idle down for me so i took it in. Turned out the vac pistons on the carbs were leaking so the idle would race. Not everything can be perfect 100% of the time...
