Hey guys i'm new to the Kawi Forums, and also a new rider, first bike i bought last week, 04 ninja 250. I didn't get the users manual with it and i don't feel like buying it right now. So i have a few questions, What Octane gas is recommended? and how often do most of you change oil?

 

welcome to KF. the highest octane you can buy in your state, and every three thousand miles change the oil.

 

I may have to disagree with you Hoe. I run the lowest rated octane in my 250R. Not because I'm cheap, (middle grade octane is cheaper than the low grade here.) but the lowest rated octane will help insure a complete burn. Octane only slows down the fuel burn process which some engines need to avoid pre-detination (pinging). I have never had that problem running standard 87 octane in my 250.
