Default Little help

I was wondering if somebody that has the 08 Ninja could tell me what Oil type and what Oil filter (part number?) it takes? I would check my Owners manual..but the guy I bought it from still hasnt produced it yet . I really need to do the oil change/filter change ASAP!

SAE 10W-40.... 1.69 qt. when oil filter is removed (changed, recommended) and 1.37 qt. when oil filter is not changed. And FWIW, 1.8 qt. when engine is completely dry. Use regular oil until the bike has over 3K miles on it and then switch to a synthetic blend and not have to change it so often. Other opinions on synthetic oil may differ from mine.Go to your Kawi dealer for theoil filter. Good riding to ya.

you can go to the dealer for the filter, or you can go to an auto parts store and buy a WIX filter. Do a WIX Google, and use the chart for your bike. Wix makes all kinds of filters for a gazillion applications. I've used 'em for years with no problems. (And yes; there are other filters out there which are ultimately just a good.) I think Wix is the best for the buck, though.
My 2 cents.

Ok well I went by the Dealership where the bike was purchased after going to see that new movie: Wanted. They hooked me up with a new oil filter and some Oil...For some reason they gave me 3 qts. Anyways I put in almost 2. I just don't know if it's enough, when I stand the bike up, the oil like is like, at the bottom of the window. In hindsight It was always like that I think. Anyone else know if thats normal for this bike?
