where the hell do all of you guys live? I'm 21 with a perfect driving record and no accidents and insurance for my 250 is $1200/year, and that was the cheapest rate I could find (full coverage). I knew Michigan had higher insurance costs than other states, but I didn't think it was that much!!!

Nate
Are you trying to get full coverage? Is insurance required in your state? I think because it's not required here in Washington State and the fact that I am only getting liability, the minimum is $80.00 a year. There might be several reasons, it might be that even though I might have a Dual Sport and someone else might have a 250 Ninja the insurance company might view the Ninja as a sports bike that have a higher risk since it can go faster. I don't really pretend to know all the answers. Go on-line and find Geico and call them and ask what the minimum liability you can get. That's what I did and I still got a $50,000/$100,000/$300,000 policy. If you have the bike on payments through a bank then they usually require full coverage. Both of my bikes are through Kawasaki and Yamaha credit, so they don't care. Good luck

yeah its about $470/yr for me, im 21, female in TX with progressive... 250/500/100 and 50/100 uninsured and 100 comp & 500 collision

it's only $330 w/out the collision...

i cant decide if i want collision or not... the bike was only $1800 for my '04 which isnt a lot at all.... I think im goign to start off with collision for the first year and then when i get experience i'll drop it.. I dont want to wreck my bike within the first 3 months and not get any money for it (since they say thats when most beginner accidents happen)
