Default Battery dead?

Yesterday I accidentally left the bike on when I came home from work... My husband noticed and took the key out and gave it to me. This was about an hour after I came home....

This morning the bike wont start... When I turn it on, the lights on the (dash???) go on (the oil and neutral light). I thought it was a bit weird but when i turned my blinkers on, the oil and neutral lights blinked, and the blinker light did not go on. I did not think to look if the headlight was on........

So is my battery dead?? If not, what else could it be? the bike ran fine yesterday.......

What do I do if it is the battery? can I jump start the battery with a car???

probably just a weak battery, your best bet is to charge it with a small charger or take it to a bike shop and have them boost it for you.

You can jump start from a car battery with the car OFF. Your bikes tach may be possessed for a while as the battery charges back up. You have to run the bike over 6-7000 rpms to get the charging system to full output.

You can put a standard charger on it set to 2amps. If you don't have a 2 amp setting then don't use it.

If all else fails remove the battery from the bike and see if the stealer will charge it back up for you or call Auto Zone or similar and see if they can charge MC batteries.

Anyway to answer your question Yes you did drain the battery

1+

Motorcycle batteries have very little capacity. Leaving it on like that would have drained the battery.

I failed to mention an important bit of info.

If you are trying to charge the battery on the bike. Do Not try and charge it by idleing it in the driveway.
It wont charge it and its bad for the bike.
