Hello and welcome. I ride a Z1000 as well. If this is your first bike my suggestion is to be very cautious. The Z1000 can be a docile/friendly ride but it is very powerful 125hp/68 lb. ft torque and it is not a great beginner bike because of this power. The engine is based off of the Ninja ZX9R. Be mindful of your throttle hand. Keep the tach below 6000rpm and the Z is a puppy dog. Above that she starts to get mean and above 8000 rpm the bike is a rocket and can easily get out of hand if you're not careful. The Z is also a very good handling bike with good brakes. Also check out www.Z1000.net and www.rideforums.com. There is a great forum totally dedicated to the Z1000. Enjoy the ride.
