New to forum
Hi guys, new here. Only ever really rode 2 strokes and I'm familiar enough doing mechanical on those.
recently got a couple scooters, a 150cc and a 50cc. They sat for years but I cleaned them up and rebuild top ends and cvts and they got me on the road and back into tinkering on new stuff, learning. Started looking for an Enduro to get bike license.
Found an 09 klx 250 with 7500km on it. The seller said it would start but noisy, i didnt start it. He said he took it to "the dealership" and they said "cylinders were scored" and it needed "2 grand worth of work". Wouldn't tell me which shop he took it to, kept changing the subject but said nobody took it apart and professionals checked it out w inspection scope. Got the bike cheap and I knew those ahl 299 kits were cheap on Amazon for cylinder kits, big deal.
299 kits in the mail. Got antsy, disassembled the bike, cylinder is mint. Cams have visible wear and scoring on the buckets. Think I found the noise. Shim kits in the mail, I see buckets are $35 each on Webcam. Plan on reusing these head bolts.
could just use a little guidance, I'll post in the proper forum, just wanted to say hi and explain what I got myself into!
