"zingy" engine above 5k rpms

Mine had a high frequency jingle at around 8,000 RPM. Was tough for me to find...but eventually I found it was the clutch lever ratting in it's perch.

I've always known clutch levers had a bit of play but it never thought that the play could be heard. Wrong.
I'm afraid I've started something. Sorry.

No no no, even I didn't know it made that sound. Now people who have "zingy" engines have a thread to look at and learn to check their clutch lever

My KLR's clutch lever zings. It needs some attention.

Next time you hear it, push down hard on the gas cap. See if the noise goes away. It could also be a lose exhaust bolt.
