Nobrakes,

I installed a twin air filter, and removed the chicken wire mesh in the box. It seems to breath pretty well. Let me know how you like the K&N.

KLXelent - I just bought the one for a KLX300 after looking at the parts diagrams for both the KLX300 and KLX250S and noting that they both use the same part numbers for the filter components. From that I guessed that the K&N for the KLX300 would fit the KLX250S. However, it has not yet arrived so I can't say for 100% sure.

Code Item Qty Price
KN KLX300 1997-2005 Kawasaki KLX 300 K&N Air Filter 1 $46.95
KN charger K&N Air Filter Recharger Kit - Aerosol kit 1 $13.95

You can find these at http://www.58cycle.com

Sullydirt - hopefully it will arrive soon and I'll be sure to try it out and let you know. I'm anxious to know myself.

ORIGINAL: Nobrakes

If you like LOUD, you'll want to get the Big Gun, otherwise, get the Muzzy w/quiet insert. The Muzzy is by no means meek or quiet, but from everything I've gathered, the Big Gun is quite a bit louder. I think the Muzzy is just about right. If you like it louder, then remove the quiet insert.
Justa FYI - but my Big Gun came with a quiet insert also. I chose to leave it off - and yes, it's a loud exhaust. Nothing like my 2stroker with a FMF pipe, but still loud.
