Well thanks to.......well almost everyone in here I have decided to take it in the shorts and order the Muzzy full system and the jet parts. I need to get my bike in to get the valves checked, oh and by the way my parts/service guy wanted to scold me for not getting them done at the 600 mark, but I think he will get over it, LOL. Anyway I am going to run the parts and the work through the dealer for several reasons, they are really good at the jetting work on these bikes, anything wrong they have to fix, and the best reason I can put it on my Kawasaki card, and pretend it was free.........[] Ok maybe not. Can someone here give a report on the maintenance and parts availability on the Muzzy, and also how it really made a difference in the power. Thanks again, now lets not add any more mods or I will have to get a second job.[8D]

 

Here I am before the exhaust and jetting mod after I was told how much it was going to be.

 

But I bet it will change to this after the price is forgotten.

 

Just got off the phone with my part guy and he was told by his supplier that it would be 2 weeks, and that the muzzy for our bikes (klx 300) is the hottest selling exhaust right now. Anyway I can't wait until the parts come in.

Ok I just ordered the K&N filter, and I will be either running with the top off or add some mini 1 inch filters when they do the work. They are suggesting that I could end up with 4-7 more hp and that sounds sweet to me. Man, I knew I shouldn't have had that 10th cup of coffee today. I also ordered the 45 tooth and a good chain, so we'll see. Maybe I can do a tire change at the same time. In fact if its only $20.00 I should have the shop do the tire as well, although I need to learn sometime. I looked at the common part numbers in the sticky, and the snorkel for the kdx 200, does that come with a new lid, or does it just slide in place of the stock snorkel? Anyone got a picture of the difference between the two? Ok I gotta go get rid of some of this adrenaline before I explode. Is this what its like to be on drugs? Is there a 12 step program somewhere for motorcycle guys that have lost their wives because of too much modding? LOL

 

I almost forgot to ask, which exhaust had an issue with the foot peg? I can still cancel this thing if it was the muzzy. Also I asked them if I could get a good deal on parts, and they give customers that have bought bikes from them a discount on parts. He quoted me at $375.00 for the muzzy full system. Is that a good price? (no not trying to start a price war) LOL

 

It is the Muzzy that gets in the way of the buddy pegs. I think that you can modify them to go ahead and work though. I didn't like the idea of the 1" foam intake thingys so I put the klx300 snorkle in place of the stock snorkle and then modified the stock snorkle and fit it in the lid also. It gets plenty of air now and I don't have the intake noise that I had before.
I'll get some pics and you will see what I'm talking about.

 

If you like LOUD, you'll want to get the Big Gun, otherwise, get the Muzzy w/quiet insert. The Muzzy is by no means meek or quiet, but from everything I've gathered, the Big Gun is quite a bit louder. I think the Muzzy is just about right. If you like it louder, then remove the quiet insert.

 

I wish you well with getting the Muzzy in 2 weeks. I ordered mine April 24th and still don't have it! It's a little frustrating when you pay that much $$$ in advance, and don't have anything to show for it. [:@]
