Default wider foot pegs?

Has anyone installed wider footpegs? I was considering ordering the ims wide foot pegs. Anyone know the advantages/disadvantages.

I got the IMS stainless pegs after a recommendation from Bad Bear on this forum. While I was skeptical at first, I was surprised at how much more stable standing on them felt. They are great! The only caveat is that you need to grind the peg mount a little bit so they sit flat, but that's not a big deal.

I have the IMS Pro Series foot pegs on my KLX 300. The IMS Pro Series have sharper teeth than the IMS Superstock. I like the sharp teeth for the traction and they do wear down some with use. One of the best "mods" I've done for ergonomic comfort. The wider platform is much more comfortable. Imo they are a must have for serious off road use. If you don't do much off roading they may not be worth the price.

When I ride, off or on road I do a lot of standing, yea I get some pretty weird looks from people, and the wider pegs would probably be a lot easier on the bottom of your feet. I might look into that for the next mod. There are easy to find options for the wife's XT 225 in places for around $60.00 which seems kind of steep. What did they cost?

I just ordered a set of the IMS Super Stock stainless steel footpegs.

Having them on another bike that I do a lot of off road riding on, they do make a huge difference in comfort and control.

I just ordered them right from IMS Products.

When riding off road, the best way to ride is standing. It gives you so much more control of the bike. Plus you don't weight it down with your "inertia" so it will make it through the rough stuff much easier.

I have the IMS super stock and I like them too..I recommend them.

I wish my pegs were about an inch back though. I would be in better position while standing and getting forward on the bike. Anybody else noticed this?

Not only an inch back, but an inch down.

You would "pop" up on the pegs then.

I'm looking into an adaptor to do just that. However it is a bit more complex in the KLX than the KLR.

Here's a before and after shot of the KLR.

It makes a huge difference in the ridability of the bike.

Yeah, they stayed the same height. To change the height, I'm assuming you'd need to change the whole mount, not just the peg, but I could be wrong.
