Default what thread are the mirrors?

Im switching to a singlefoldable type and they say 10mm, however when I try to screw a 10mm bolt in the mount it doesnt screw in but maybe 3 threads.

anyone know the exact size of the mounts?

(I think the bolt I tried was 10mm x 1.50 and I didnt see a different size 10mm at sears hardware)

I really don't get how you can see behind you very well with those. Here are the ones I got. http://www.fourstrokesonly.com/mirrors.html

Here are a couple of links on folding mirrors that have been discussed here.

And for any newer members, don't forget about the search button, I use it all the time to find something that we have discussed in the past. I mean after all, our section is second in posts only to the off topic area. That was a jab at you ninja guys. Just messing with ya's. But seriously the search button is the BOMB!! (if they still say the BOMB!!) give it a try. I found all that stuff in less than 30 seconds.

the japanese in their infinite wisdom use a 10mm diameter by 1mm pitch thread, strange [&:]
and you will probably notice that where the rest on the world will put a 13mm head on a 8mm thread the japanese use a 12mm head as they are supersticious about the number 13 and so use it as little as possible.

Hey Im not a newbie [sm=icon_stickpoke.gif]

Anyway, I got my bikemaster foldable mirror today and it screwed in just fine (10mm). I have seen the dual star but honestly I took the mirror off the bikemaster mount and held it in that position and I was still looking at my shirt. I wanted the dual star but they have been backordered for 6 weeks now so I went with the foldable and Im glad I did.

Thanks for the tip on the threads Simon, I would have never guessed.

I got those folding mirrors that deej referenced, and i noticed that i pretty much cant see behind me.... nice view of each of my shoulders though.... they just dont extend out around my body... i like that they fold. but because of decreased visibility i might take them off.... and maybe carry a wrench to take off the stock mirrors when in the woods.... jmo

You cant see at all with them?

I can see better with the foldablethan with the stocker. I only put one on the throttle side and removed the mirror and mount from the left side...maybe my pro-tapers are wider with a different sweep...I dunno but I like it.
