Agree pretty much with TNC^. Keep the water outta the electrical stuff. Use a bucket and sponge; no high pressure "blow a hole through stuff" kinda wand; you're cleaning an electrically-operated machine, not scraping paint off the house. Use a cheap paint brush to agitate the gooey stuff and sponge off or use a garden hose with regulated, dribbly low pressure. I have never pointed a high pressure wand at any bike I've owned; bad idea. Corrosion is not your friend.
