And I quote from our KLX owner's manual,
So if its fine for us to rejet based on altitude, why not based on it being too lean from the factory? This pretty much gave me the go ahead on rejetting.
High altitude adjustment requires replacement of certain carburetor components. Installation of these optional parts may be performed by an authorized Kawasaki dealer, or the consumer, following repair recommendations in the appropriate Kawasaki Service Manual
