Been reading some of the threads regarding the upgrade of the KLX-250s to a '300.

What is/was the total cost of this upgrade?

If you mean the big bore kit, the parts are around $470 from on-line OEM suppliers like RonAyers.com. If you need to have a mechanic install them, figure around $200 to $300 or thereabouts. Don't count that price if you can do it yourself.

 

Even with this mod, pipe and carb mods, this bike is still a couple grand less than the Husky, KTM and Aprilia offerings. Granted those bikes have superior technology and horsepower but who could argue the fun factor of the KLX250? Not me thats for sure. I could'nt be more satisfied with mine. Well maybe if I had the 300 kit. LOL ;-p

 

All you got to do is go to www.bikebandits.com or ronayers and buy the piston and sleeve and slip into your bike and there you go that is your bore kit good luck.
