Tool sizes? Top end.
Hey klxers, It's big bore time! My kit is on order and I would like to get everything ready. I am a autotech so tools are no problem but I would like to know the tool sizes for the large and small head bolts so I can have my tool guy get me some fresh (non worn ) ones.
Thanks

You'll also want an 8mm and 10mm wrench to loosen the oil carrier assembly. The lower cam tension bolt is 19mm. The head stays require a 12mm socket and 14mm socket + wrench.
PS: I forgot to order new crush washers and one of the oil carrier banjos weeps a bit now. Will replace the washers at next oil change.

Make sure you test fit your parts and have some assembly lube. I snapped a cam side engine bolt (the long thin one, 8mm head) when reassembling my big bore kit and had to tear it all back down. Bolt snapped off at the threads......inside the engine case. Had to take the bike to a shop and have them get it out.
