I have had my 2009 KLX for a couple of months now. I already have my eye on the DRZ 400SM. Long post short. Can i get tires like the DRZ has on my KLX? The nubby/street stock tires make me nervous because i feel im not getting as much grip as a "normal" tire.Any info would be much appreciated.

been there, done that. long story short, I missed my KLX and when you have your DRZSM, you'll just want to buy the dirt wheels/tires from the E or S DRZ as they bolt right on. But the bad thing is, they're like gold and you'll pay upwards of a grand for a used set and to build some will set you back even more. So say bye-bye to any off-road fun your KLX may provide. I sold my '06 KLX for a new '06 DRZ- awesome bike, but it got sold last fall for my '09 KLX. You can buy pretty streety tires that will fit on the stock rims. Someone here has some and pics if you do a search.

 

I ran the 603 and then the 606 and now the kenda and I lay the bike over pretty hard and fast and haven't slipped once.
