I don't know why everyone is so down on the TU250. I know it's not a flashy bike or dual sport, but it's a cool retro bike.

After 20+ years out of motorcycling it was the TU250 that drew me back in. I loved the simplicity and retro styling that reminded me of bikes from the 70's. No other manufacturer makes a bike like it, except Triumph at 3 times the cost.

Unfortunately for me, the bike is 49-state or I would have bought one 3-years ago. Year after year I waited and hoped Suzuki would make it 50-state. Finally when the '12 model came out and it wasn't 50-state I got tired of waiting and changed gears. In hindsight I'm glad I did. I think I'm having more fun on the KLX then I would of ever had on the TU250. But if you have no desire to ride in the dirt I would consider it. I think it'll be a head turner from a lot of older guys who remember bikes like it.

I agree, it does look retro cool. And is fuel injected.

Maybe it's the color, but I think it's ugly... and my first bike was an XS650.

For street only and good fuel mileage my choices would be.
Ninja 250
Honda Rebel 250
Sachs Madass 125 (Maybe used for moderate off-road)
