heh - that is awesome! I know of a few guys with KLX's but only one with the proper year.

I know a few guys with 09's that go through fork and rear shock seals like they're going out of style. One of the guys got yelled at by the dealer on the second warranty repair - "THIS IS NOT AN OFF-ROAD BIKE, STOP TAKING IT OFF-ROAD OR WE'LL DENY THE CLAIMS!" hahahhaaa

A buddy of mine just started riding, asked what to get so I kept linking him to 06/07's on craigslist for $2,500-$3k.

He didn't have enough liquid cash, so he went and got a brand new 0'12.

So now he's like $6k in the hole on a financed dirt bike, and it's not even the good year. haha
And it's all beat up already from dropping it, it's probably worth half that now.

Oh well, not my bike!

All the fun bashing '09 and later models aside......I think the newer ones can be modded into just about as good a dirt motor as our '06/'07 models. I would miss the inch of travel, but with proper valving and springing...like you have to do on our older ones too...they seem to work just fine. Frankly I'd like the KLX351 motor in a KX250F chassis, and I'd be one happy camper.

How about a KTM, Aprillia, KLX sandwich..
My KLX has noooo trouble keeping up, or staying ahead of some of the higher strung bikes. Where you fall in line has much more to do with everyone's riding ability than the brand of bike you're on.

Well I'm buying a DRZ tomorrow, the SF was just not powerful enough for me.

I like how the DRZ rips my arms out of their sockets.
