Default suspension help

I am looking for some good baseline suspension settings for a "big guy" 5-10 230.
I do mostly rough offroad riding, with road riding to connect the trails. I also have the kouba
1.5 lowering link I would like to install, if I could still get relatively decent suspension if I use it.
Thanks for any help offered. Jeremy

I don't think lowering would make sense. At 230, I would think you are already at risk of bottoming out.

Not if he has the right springs.

Cool, unless you are really new to the bike I wouldn't use the lowering link. I ran it in mine for about 8 months until I was comfortable with everything and my balance improved. I've since removed it to regain my original ground clearance. That extra inch is handy in rock gardens and log crossing. I'm only 5'7" with a 30" inseam, and don't miss the lowering link now that its gone.

Thanks guys, I bought the kouba links awhile back and was interested to see the difference with the bike a little lower. I guess with my weight I should basically max out the stock springs and see where I;m at. I have the bash plate on so smacking the bottom should not be to much of an issue.Famous last words.
