Also the use of insulating tape will cut down on noise as the engine vibes help produce a harmonic sound that had me doing this right after I first fired it up...

Ok. I think I got it mounted well enough. I put in the four rear bolts first and then the two hangers. As I tightened them the plate sucked up against the frame and allowed the bolts to line up better so I didn't have to use too much torque. I still wish the spacers in the middle were longer, so the brace would not be prone to bending and the bolts would actually have a definite stopping point, but I think I can put some bushings or something in there.

I think maybe someone at Ricochet may be listening too. Even though my brace is bent, the bolts only protrude a few milliliters, so they are definitely providing shorter bolts now.
