Default Which Jet Kit? Honestly, I did a search first...

I talked to a guy today that has a stock KLX300 exhaust (minus spark arrester), and if all goes well, I'll have it tomorrow night. I looked at Dyno Jet and JD websites, and neither lists a kit for a 2006 KLX. What should I be looking for? I haven't done any mods to the bike that would effect the jetting, except a UNI filter. I'll probably remove the snorkel or install a KDX one when I install the exhaust. Almost all of my time is spent around sea level.

Btw, can I use my 250 spark arrester in the 300 pipe?

Feel free to post a link to another thread that contains all this info, and then chastise me for being the 1000th person to ask this. I probably deserve it.

Thanks for the info.

The guy with the pipe just told me he also has a 6 Sigma Racing Jet kit that he got and never used for his KLX300. Says I can have it for $50. Like a lot of things, I've never heard of 6 Sigma. Thoughts???

Dynojet kit comes with a new needle. Looks like 6sigma does not include a needle or extra jets. Stick with the tried and true Dynojet kit.

That's what I'm going to do. I got the 300 exhaust last night. Looks to be in really good shape, but I passed on the jet kit.

Can anyone else confirm what tjw said, that the 1997-2007 KLX 300 kit is the one I should be ordering?

I think the needle in both DJ kits is probably the same needle, and it's the needle that is critical in gaining a performance improvement. It's the spring-or-no-slide-spring setup vs. drilling the hole in the slide method for speeding up slide response...maybe? Regardless, the 300 DJ kit will work fine in your bike.

What do you mean "Maybe?" Are you asking me??? Please don't to that, because I have no idea what you're even talking about.

On the bright side... 2 people have told me the same thing on the internets, where everyone has their own opinion. That means you must both be right, so I'll order the KLX 300 jet kit tomorrow.

Thanks again.

why get klx300 jet kit when you can just get a klx250 jet kit?...the 2008 and past klx250 model have different engine/carb from 2009+?...people buy the klx300 kits when dyno jet didn't have a klx250 jet kit in the past?

Either will work as long as you are running the cvk34. I knew what I wanted (128) and I just wanted to drill the slide, put it together and be done .
