Running Rich after New Cam Chain and Valve Adjustment
Thanks klx678 and brewster. i wish I was in the US so that would be a viable option. There are plenty of places here that sell everything on those sites, just that you have to look around a lot as none have online catalogs and only a few are listed online at all.
I found a thread of yamaha xs650s that are having the same issue, and although different carb the shaft and carrier diamters are the same. Yamaha sells that shaft seal individually. Another solution was to used quad section orings, or xrings?, from mcmaster-carr but they were not lasting very long. My 010 size oring only lessened the problem but did not solve it 100%.
I will look for the seals here locally if not then I'll try the yamaha part.
cheers.

Kinda crazy that we are still adding knowledge like this to the forum.. The use of carb cleaner can damage a shaft seal that will cause carb'ing issues and a bad running KLX, and we just now, in 2015, capture the issue.. Wonder how many owners suffered from this..
Just called Yamaha dealer, they got order for Thursday. Costs $1.67 USD jaja. Here is the link were several yamaha guys are having this issue. I found it by the seals on ebay that referenced the carb that these guys use. I believe it's a match based on the measurements of their seal, although it's a different type of seal I hope it works. For less than 2 dollars its worth a shot.

Stock type felt seal

Rubber shaft seal

Pictures are just for reference and aren't parts that actually fit our carbs
