Rim locks

Rim locks
Any of you put in rim locks? If so, did you redrill the front rim and add a second rim lock to help balance the wheels? I did some rim locks and they were so close to the valve that the rear took 4-1/2 oz of weights to balance the wheel, the front took 3-1/2 oz. I'm considering drilling the front rim opposite the valve to try to make balancing easier for it. The rear could cut some weight by drilling a second lock opposite the one near the valve. Any comments or thoughts would be of value.

I ran twin rim locks on both wheels before I went tubliss. Put them opposite each other.
After converting to tubliss, which is back to one rimlock, I purchase 3/32 sheet lead and glue a 1/2" wide band on each side of the spokes to balance the wheel (approx 4-6" long on each side). I balance the wheel on the axle supported from my bench vise and a 2x4 with a hole in it.
Big Bonus: I leave KTM riders in the dust on the Hywy, cause shops don't balance supercross tires/wheels, but I do.

I have single rimlocks. They came with the bike. A motocross shop did a crap job of balancing and didn't say anything about the rimlocks.. I got some more spoke weights off amazon and got the wheels in much better balance myself. Still not perfect. I'm thinking about a second offsetting set that will allow me to remove the ridiculous amount of weights I have to offset the single rimlock. I'm now of the thinking if your going to have rimlocks on a bike that goes on the highway, you better have doubles.
