if you run low pressure, the keep the tire from spinning on the wheel and ripping out the valve stem... makes for a flat tire....

I have heard in a few places that it's 1.65 on the front and 1.85 on the back.
Sounds small, but I think that's right.

I can't remember the exact value of the top of my head, but the size you need is stamped on the rim itself.

The shop manuel says the rim sizes are 21x1.60 and 18x2.15. Dennis kirk part # for the 1.60 is 51-3549 and the # for the2.15 is 51-3551 those are from parts unlimited. the catalog also has some from motion pro for less money. hope that helps

Yep, those are the sizes I wrote down. I don't recall where I got them, but it sounded authoritative enough that I put it down in my KLX shopping list. The 1.85" was easy to find, but still haven't been able to locate the 1.65".

Rim Locks, Front 1.65"
Rim Locks, Rear 1.85"

Also, I haven't found spoke weights anywhere to balance the addition of the rim locks. I've seen them on bikes, but not in any catalogs. I guess I'll have to check next time I'm at the dealer. (And let's not start anything again about "spoke nipples", ok?)
