Default Replacing Seals on Inverted Front Suspension - Leaking - Any Links To "How To"s

Just bought a 2006 KLX 250S. Found out the front shocks leak. Not something I was looking for when I bought because I know very little about bikes.

Are there any how to videos/pictures available on changing the seals? A couple buddies who are mechanical and own bikes are going to help me. A video or some photos or any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

have you heard of the 35mm film fork seal trick?
If not do a Google search. Most of the time it works.

That's pretty cool, Thanks.

Is there a trick adding fork fluid without having to take everything apart? I'm not sure how long it's been leaking for and if it's uneven I'm told that's bad.

I bought the fancy seal cleaning tool, but mine's still leaking a bit

You could add fluid by supporting the bike on a stand and unscrewing the hex cap on the top of the fork. It will be messy and not that accurate because the spring will still be attached to the damper.
Most accurate method(and what I would use) is described in the service manual.

Hi 2006KLX250S, I did this last year on my 09 SF, first thing I worked on and did right so it's not too hard. Here are a few links I saved. The first one is for a bike the same as yours I think. I did it without any of the special tools but I would recommend investing in them as it isn't too much and will make the job much easier.

I could only find the Owner's Manual for my bike... Not the service.
Does anyone happen to have a link for the Service Manual for the KLX? Preferably 2006-2007. Thanks!

this link is for the 09+ models but it will give you a detailed idea of how to work on the suspension on your bike. https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...manuals-37525/
