Question about a KDX220
Hey guys,
I would have posted this in the KDX220 section, but that place is absolutely DRT (dead right there). I found locally a 97' KDX 220 for sale that's in a pretty good shape for a very descent price and have thought about buying it for a 'back up' trail bike and I'm curious if anyone here has experience of acutally owning/riding one.
I've owned smaller displacement Kawa 2 strokers before and because of their wicked powerband, I opted to stay away from a KX250 when I went looking for a new bike - and that's how I stumbled across and purchased my KLX250. If the KLX400 had been on the market then, or the dealer had a 300R sitting on the floor ... I probably would have bought one them over the 250.
A few of the guys I ride with have asked why I didn't find a KDX200 or KDX220 if I was going to stay 100% trails with the KLX250 - and I tell them, "I really didnt want to ride a screaming 2 stroker again." Each time we get on the topic, they tell me how docile the KDXs are compared to a KX. Is there really that big of a difference? I'm not a teenager anymore and I don't heal like one either. I'd prefer a controllable bike and with my itchy right hand, I know from past experiences how much trouble a wicked powerband can get me into ....
Is the KDX 220 going to be too twitchy (throttle-wise) compared to my modded KLX250?

i think the kdx would be a great choice. they are right about it compared to a kx, not as wicked in the delivery dept.
i'm actually thinking about one for the trails as well. everyone i've ever talked to loves them.

dittos to sullydirts post. my broyher also has a kdx 220 and i have ridden it several times and it is one sweet bike for the woods. the only complaint I have heard is from tall riders. not sure why. maybe they need taller bars.
