If you review the bikes spec sheet and are looking at the KLX250S with the understanding that it's a 249cc street legal, 4-stroke, dual sport bike then you should not be disappointed with it at all.

If you're trying to keep up with your 18 year old kid on a race ready CR250R then you're just an idiot and deserve whatever you get.

I own a couple of large bore dirt (CR500) and street bikes (ZZR1200) currently and have rode bikes my whole life, I appreciate the little KLX for precisely what it is and what it does, it's an absolute no-brainer to toodle around on and the lack of neck-snapping power makes it a real pleasurable and fun mount for those times when you don’t feel like having your arms tore out of their sockets.
If it weren't for the KLX then an older KLR, Super Sherpa or an XT225 would fit the bill fine for me; just not look nearly as sharp.

I even have a 2000 KE100 that I ride to work (15 miles each way) from time to time........ no ego problem here just havin some fun before I die.
100% spot on. [sm=exactly.gif][sm=shades.gif]

sell the DRZ private don't let the stealer take it
