Default Pro Taper SE handlebars...

Anyone have the Pro Taper SE's and have any trouble with aftermarket handguard fit issues?
I found that since the bar is so much thicker, the inside diameter is way smaller than stock and my BENT[:@]moose bars. So much so, that I can't get any of the included hardware to fit inside. If I just go and buy some nuts and bolts with an appropriatesized rubber hose, that would be ok.....NO?
Just having trouble finding the hose.
Anyone been through this and would like to throw some info around.....I would be thankfull.

Dave

Get a bar end kit for aluminum bars. They are all that way.

My Tusk barsguards with expansion type hardware and it wouldn't fit inside my Tusk bars, then I looked again and they were just rubber sleeves over a knurled steel expansion nut.

I was under the impression that you only used the rubber sleeve if you were using steel bars. I know on my Moose handguards (which I used with MSR Dominator bars and now Tusk bars) I do not use the rubber sleeves. My Moose kit came with them included, but I discarded them when I screwed up my stock steel bars.

I believe I had to choose which mounting kit. I ordered my handguards with my pro taper bars so it wasn't a problem.

Yeah I threw away my aluminum ones when I installed the steel bars............Figures now I need them.
Made a stop to home depot, bought two1/4" nuts and bolts with some plastic tubing. I made my own bar end inserts andthey appear to hold on pretty darn good.Actually line up better than what the manufacturer supplied.

Get some of these.

Or the Pro Taper kit.
See HERE for fitting list.
I'm sure it's the BTC ANS kit.
